Schedule

We have fun and interesting activities planned for all ages!
Participate in as few or as many activities as you would like!

Remember, this is your weekend! Everything planned by the Stake or Nauvoo is OPTIONAL. We want you to make the most of this weekend and to do what works best for your family.

*Disclaimer* The stake will NOT be providing childcare. Please reach out to your ministering brothers/sisters, other families in your unit, or the Relief Society and Elders Quorum to help make childcare arrangements. Although there won’t be childcare provided there will be activities that parents/adults can take children to.

The Church has developed a nice site to help plan and find things to do in Nauvoo.

Nauvoo Schedule of Performances: Click Here

Saturday, October 12, 2024

  • Welcome Center: Nauvoo Pageant Headquarters

  • Temple Primary "Mini-Tours"
    • 1-3 pm - "mini-tours" of the temple's recommend area for the Primary children and their families, even if they are not members or do not have recommends. This is a great opportunity for those investigating the Church as well.
    • Please bring blankets to sit on during our devotional with President Miller and also bring a family name that you learned about and could share with everyone while we are waiting our turn to enter the temple.

  • Youth Dance and Devotional
    • 5:30 - 8 pm - A devotional and dance for youth turning 14 this year up to 18. Food will be provided.
    • Location: Kimball Barn (Commerce St, Nauvoo, IL 62354)
    • Dress: Casual

  • Welcome Center Details/Events:
    • Information "Hub" for the Stake Event:
      • Stop here as you arrive in Nauvoo and anytime during the day to get a list of activities going on with the Stake Temple Event. There will be a list of the various activities available for people to take that includes the times and locations for each event. People can also just take a picture of the poster of this that will be on the wall so that they can have access to it on their phone.

    • Restrooms and Refreshments:
      • This will be a great place for people to stop in and use the restrooms after their drive to Nauvoo. There will be some simple snacks and water bottles there for people to pick up to get rejuvenated as they prepare for their day in Nauvoo.

    • Pick Up a copy of "Chart Your Course"
      • There will be copies of the "Chart Your Course" flier available that people can pick up to help them plan their activities during the day.  This will help them to experience many of the activities planned for this Stake Temple Event and to prayerfully consider the many other wonderful offerings as they enjoy their day in Nauvoo.

    • Find Your Four Generations:
      • There will be laptops set up that people can check to see if their Four Generations have been entered into Family Search. Currently only 1/3 of our Stake Members have their Four Generations entered into Family Search. Most likely their great-grandparents and perhaps even their grandparents are already listed in Family Search, so this shouldn't take too long for them to get this done.
      • If people don't want to take the time enter this into the website at this time, there will be pamphlets available for people to take to fill out the information while they are driving in the car and then they can do it later on the website.

    • Find a Cousin Through Rescuing Our Roots
      • People can take a moment on the laptops to transcribe a gravestone on Billion Graves through our Rescuing Our Roots project and then look up that individual on Family Search to see if they might be related. If they are, we will encourage them to see if there is any temple work that needs to be done for that person and reserve the ordinances.

    • Family and Children Activities
      • An area will be set up where children can do activities to help them focus on the importance of the temple and family history work. They can make paper chains to represent how our families are linked together. They can do coloring sheets that are from the "Gathering the Family of God" coloring book.

    • Help the Smith and Collins Family
      • At our Stake Conference in Fall of 2023 two young women spoke about how they had uncovered gravestones during the "Rescuing our Roots" projects. We have taken on these individuals and their extended families to help with their temple work. Many members of the Stake have participated in completing the needed temple work. At this area, people can read the stories of finding these buried gravestones and, if they desire, pick up an ordinance card to go complete at the temple that day.
